This veteran Virginia DJ has been rocking’ clubs for the past 15 years. Jesse brings experience and skills to the turntables that few can duplicate. He has been dubbed the Capitol City’s house master, and by experiencing his live turntable performances, it is not hard to see why. Whether he is playing to an audience of 1000 or 10 every performance is as unique as his musical style.
From the TURNSTYLE record store to ‘Frequency’ on WRIR 97.3 every Saturday night to the production of quality VA events, Jesse has gained the reputation of bringing the Virginia dance music scene to new heights.
As co-founder of Turnstyle, Jesse shown a tireless commitment to serving the dance music scene in Richmond and beyond. Turnstyle has grown to be the town square of the dance music scene by offering an outlet to purchase music(digital and vinyl), event tickets, turntable repairs, sound rental, apparel, and pick up the latest event flyer. Turnstyle is celebrating its 7 year anniversary this June.
In addition to show production and show DJ on WRIR, Jesse currently serves as Vice President of the Board of Directors for The Virginia Center for Public Press (VCPP). The VCPP Board of Directors also known as WRIR 97.3 LPFM- Richmond Independent Radio began FM transmissions 1/1/2005 and has since grown to the largest LPFM in the country and serves as a model for grass roots radio. WRIR is currently the only LPFM in a top 50 market and Jesse is an advocate of nationwide LPFM and lobbies congress to relax the rules governing dial placement in order to bring LPFM to cities across the county. Jesse also serves as Operations Committee Chairman and FCC Committee Chairman at WRIR. WRIR has received several awards for outstanding contributions to the Richmond Community.
Jesse is an advocate of the Richmond Art Community and is a participating gallery during the First Fridays Artwalk. First Fridays Artwalk has been recognized for outstanding contribution to the Richmond Community by several media outlets and Richmond City Council.
