A Richmond original comes back from his home in Roanoke to bring his latest offerings in the world of techno.
Neurotic Insights is the force behind the infamous ‘The Padded Room’ events held in Richmond.
Lovehate (Patrick Brander)
Patrick Brander hails from Lansing, Michigan where he listened to techno and electro and grew his beard. Once his beard was fully grown he made the exodus to Baltimore. There, he met up with Craig Sopo and they started the More/Less techno label. And so the face-melting commenced.

Sopo (Craig Sopo)
Between his schooling, steam boat commandeering and dayraving Craig Sopo finally made the inevitable jump that most djs do. Becoming a producer. While most people shouldn’t bother making the jump, we’re glad Craig did. Not only does he make the tracks he also runs half of MORE OR LESS and is professional hustler. There will be no mention of humbleness, humility et. al. Let’s be real with ourselves here, reading a bio with that cut/paste text is boring. Sopo is sarcastic and rude like a ornery old man with shingles and cataracts. One minute he is rocking Detroit electro and ghettotech while the next he is flipping the switch with some techno jawns that would blow away the minimal haircut trendsters. Keep your eyes peeled for any Sopo sightings on the turntables, but please, no requests.

Dj Kel (Scott Kelly)
Borne out of the depths of suburban Philadelphia, now living in Baltimore, DJ Kel brings a skillful blend from multiple years and flavors of electronic music. His tastes for house, techno, ambient and IDM have been helped by years of on-air and back-office work in free-format radio. First DJ’ing in 1998, Kel made his debut on WPRB (Princeton Univ.) in 1999. Throughout his five years of college, Kel programmed over 300 shows on WKDU (Drexel Univ.) while accepting offers to spin in Philly’s various clubs, bars, diners, lounges, warehouses, garages, living rooms, bedrooms, billiard rooms and cloakrooms. In the past few years, Kel’s repertoire has grown to include ambient music from the 70’s to the present day. After a handful of guest sets on the long-running “Star’s End” ambient radio program on WXPN, Kel programmed and mixed an entire five-hour show in August 2007. Nowadays one can expect to hear trippy and dubby ambient interludes laced in his sets, along with deep house, IDM, and jackin’ techno, making a thoughtful mix of records selected with an ear for richness and melody.

Leriseux (Paul Baker)
Born under a wolf moon and near a windmill, leriseux was exposed to electronic music at an early age via Dutch pirate radio. Early exposure to disco and 80’s house set that groove in his skull and put him well on his way towards being a techno acolyte. As leriseux searched for that beat that made his head bump, he traversed discos in Belgium, Germany and France. After arriving in the states in ’94, leriseux was exposed to the state-side ‘rave’ scene which further cemented his love for all things house and techno. Leriseux started making idm in ’97 and house/techno in ‘99 but will probably never release anything.
